Why is Bhai Dooj on Thu 19 Oct in Pāthardi?
Bhai Dooj is on Thu 19 Oct: Dwitiya holds all of aparahna that day, and no other.
Dwitiya holds all of aparahna, 13:23–15:43. Dwitiya: 05:01 to 01:59 Fri.
Dwitiya ended at 01:59; aparahna is Tritiya.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The tilak is applied in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Dwitiya runs from 05:01 on Thu 19 Oct to 01:59 on Fri 20 Oct, so only Thursday’s aparahna (13:23–15:43) falls within it. No text giving Bhai Dooj’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
