Why is Rama Navami on Tue 12 Apr or Wed 13 Apr in Sevan?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Tue 12 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 11:42–14:20. Navami: 07:00 to 08:31 Wed.
Navami ended at 08:31; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+4). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 07:00 on Tue 12 Apr to 08:31 on Wed 13 Apr, so only Tuesday’s madhyahna (11:42–14:20) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Wed 13 Apr, at 06:24. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
