Why is Rama Navami on Sun 9 Apr or Mon 10 Apr in Sevan?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Sun 9 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 11:43–14:20. Navami: 08:55 to 07:33 Mon.
Navami ended at 07:33; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+4). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 08:55 on Sun 9 Apr to 07:33 on Mon 10 Apr, so only Sunday’s madhyahna (11:43–14:20) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Mon 10 Apr, at 06:29. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
