Why is Rama Navami on Mon 3 Apr or Tue 4 Apr in Thazhecode?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Mon 3 Apr: Navami touches madhyahna that day, and no other.
Ashtami until 12:00, inside madhyahna; then Navami. Navami: 12:00 to 10:07 Tue.
Navami ended at 10:07; madhyahna is Dashami. Navami: 12:00 Mon to 10:07.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 12:00 on Mon 3 Apr to 10:07 on Tue 4 Apr, so it touches only Monday’s madhyahna (11:15–13:42).
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Tue 4 Apr, at 06:20. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
