Why is Rama Navami on Mon 3 Apr or Tue 4 Apr in Myshkin?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Mon 3 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 11:09–13:50. Navami: 09:30 to 07:37 Tue.
Navami ended at 07:37; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+3). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 09:30 on Mon 3 Apr to 07:37 on Tue 4 Apr, so only Monday’s madhyahna (11:09–13:50) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Tue 4 Apr, at 05:45. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
