Why is Rama Navami on Thu 26 Mar or Fri 27 Mar in Myshkin?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Thu 26 Mar: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 11:16–13:48. Navami: 09:19 to 07:37 Fri.
Navami ended at 07:37; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+3). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 09:19 on Thu 26 Mar to 07:37 on Fri 27 Mar, so only Thursday’s madhyahna (11:16–13:48) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Fri 27 Mar, at 06:08. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
