Why is Rama Navami on Sat 5 Apr or Sun 6 Apr in Davinópolis?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Sat 5 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 10:59–13:24. Navami: 10:56 to 10:53 Sun.
Navami ended at 10:53; madhyahna is Dashami. Navami: 10:56 Sat to 10:53.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC−3). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 10:56 on Sat 5 Apr to 10:53 on Sun 6 Apr, so only Saturday’s madhyahna (10:59–13:24) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Sun 6 Apr, at 06:11. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
