Why is Rama Navami on Tue 4 Apr or Wed 5 Apr in Myshkin?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Tue 4 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 11:08–13:50. Navami: 08:50 to 07:34 Wed.
Navami ended at 07:34; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+3). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 08:50 on Tue 4 Apr to 07:34 on Wed 5 Apr, so only Tuesday’s madhyahna (11:08–13:50) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Wed 5 Apr, at 05:43. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
