Why is Rama Navami on Tue 8 Apr or Wed 9 Apr in Codcod?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Tue 8 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 10:35–13:02. Navami: 05:41 to 08:07 Wed.
Navami ended at 08:07; madhyahna is Dashami. Navami: 05:41 Tue to 08:07.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+8). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 05:41 on Tue 8 Apr to 08:07 on Wed 9 Apr, so only Tuesday’s madhyahna (10:35–13:02) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Wed 9 Apr, at 05:40. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
