Why is Rama Navami on Tue 12 Apr or Wed 13 Apr in Codcod?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Tue 12 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 10:34–13:02. Navami: 07:37 to 06:08 Wed.
Navami ended at 06:08; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+8). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 07:37 on Tue 12 Apr to 06:08 on Wed 13 Apr, so only Tuesday’s madhyahna (10:34–13:02) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Wed 13 Apr, at 05:37. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
