Why is Rama Navami on Sun 21 Apr or Mon 22 Apr in Codcod?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Sun 21 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 10:31–13:00. Navami: 08:05 to 06:10 Mon.
Navami ended at 06:10; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+8). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 08:05 on Sun 21 Apr to 06:10 on Mon 22 Apr, so only Sunday’s madhyahna (10:31–13:00) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Mon 22 Apr, at 05:33. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
