Why is Rama Navami on Wed 12 Apr or Thu 13 Apr in Codcod?
Smarta · Rama Navami is on Wed 12 Apr: Navami holds all of madhyahna that day, and no other.
Navami holds all of madhyahna, 10:34–13:02. Navami: 08:32 to 06:46 Thu.
Navami ended at 06:46; madhyahna is Dashami.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+8). Band: the tithi. Box: Madhyahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
Rama’s birth is celebrated at madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day. Navami runs from 08:32 on Wed 12 Apr to 06:46 on Thu 13 Apr, so only Wednesday’s madhyahna (10:34–13:02) falls within it.
Vaishnavas keep Rama Navami on a tithi that Ashtami does not pierce: Navami holds sunrise on Thu 13 Apr, at 05:37. Reading the Vaishnava rule by sunrise is Tithika’s convention.
