Why is Pitru Paksha begins on Sun 19 Sep in Thazhecode?
Pitru Paksha begins is on Sun 19 Sep: Pratipada touches aparahna that day, and no other.
Purnima until 15:00, inside aparahna; then Pratipada. Pratipada: 15:00 to 11:28 Mon.
Pratipada ended at 11:28; aparahna is Dwitiya. Pratipada: 15:00 Sun to 11:28.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The first shraddha of Pitru Paksha is done in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Pratipada runs from 15:00 on Sun 19 Sep to 11:28 on Mon 20 Sep, so it touches only Sunday’s aparahna (13:32–15:58). No text giving Pitru Paksha begins’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
