Why is Pitru Paksha begins on Sat 10 Sep in Thazhecode?
Pitru Paksha begins is on Sat 10 Sep: Pratipada touches aparahna that day, and no other.
Purnima until 15:29, inside aparahna; then Pratipada. Pratipada: 15:29 to 13:15 Sun.
Pratipada ended at 13:15; aparahna is Dwitiya. Pratipada: 15:29 Sat to 13:15.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The first shraddha of Pitru Paksha is done in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Pratipada runs from 15:29 on Sat 10 Sep to 13:15 on Sun 11 Sep, so it touches only Saturday’s aparahna (13:36–16:03). No text giving Pitru Paksha begins’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
