Why is Pitru Paksha begins on Sat 17 Sep in Vapi?
Pitru Paksha begins is on Sat 17 Sep: Pratipada holds all of aparahna that day, and no other.
Aparahna is Purnima; Pratipada begins at 00:35 Sat.
Pratipada holds all of aparahna, 13:45–16:12. Pratipada: 00:35 to 21:34.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The first shraddha of Pitru Paksha is done in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Pratipada runs from 00:35 on Sat 17 Sep to 21:34 on Sat 17 Sep, so only Saturday’s aparahna (13:45–16:12) falls within it. No text giving Pitru Paksha begins’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
