Why is Pitru Paksha begins on Sat 4 Sep in Codcod?
Pitru Paksha begins is on Sat 4 Sep: Pratipada holds all of aparahna that day, and no other.
Aparahna is Purnima; Pratipada begins at 20:28.
Pratipada holds all of aparahna, 13:00–15:27. Pratipada: 20:28 Fri to 20:42.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+8). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The first shraddha of Pitru Paksha is done in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Pratipada runs from 20:28 on Fri 3 Sep to 20:42 on Sat 4 Sep, so only Saturday’s aparahna (13:00–15:27) falls within it. No text giving Pitru Paksha begins’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
