Why is Pitru Paksha begins on Sat 7 Sep in Codcod?
Pitru Paksha begins is on Sat 7 Sep: Pratipada holds all of aparahna that day, and no other.
Pratipada holds all of aparahna, 12:58–15:25. Pratipada: 06:07 to 05:49 Sun.

The first shraddha of Pitru Paksha is done in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Pratipada runs from 06:07 on Sat 7 Sep to 05:49 on Sun 8 Sep, so only Saturday’s aparahna (12:58–15:25) falls within it. No text giving Pitru Paksha begins’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
