Why is Maha Shivratri on Fri 17 Feb in Sevan?

Maha Shivratri is on Fri 17 Feb: Chaturdashi holds all of nishitha that night, and no other.

Nishitha is Trayodashi; Chaturdashi begins at 06:36 Fri.

Chaturdashi holds all of nishitha, 23:47–00:40 Sat. Chaturdashi: 06:36 to 09:07 Sat.

One row per day, on one clock (UTC+3). Band: the tithi. Box: Nishitha. Dark strip: night.

Shiva’s worship centres on nishitha, the midnight muhurta. Chaturdashi runs from 06:36 on Fri 17 Feb to 09:07 on Sat 18 Feb, so only Friday night’s nishitha (23:47–00:40 Sat) falls within it.
