Breaking the fast
Smarta · Vaishnava · Sat 24 Apr, 05:41–15:47
Parana is on Dwadashi, after its first quarter (harivasara) and before it ends. Dwadashi runs from 18:18 on Fri 23 Apr to 15:47 on Sat 24 Apr; harivasara ends at 23:40 Fri. So parana runs from sunrise on Sat 24 Apr, 05:41. Dwadashi runs past midday: the Dharmasindhu reports that many keep parana to the first 3 muhurtas after sunrise, until 08:32.
