Kamada Ekadashi is on Fri 23 Apr: Ekadashi holds that sunrise and all of its arunodaya.
Ekadashi through all of arunodaya and at sunrise. Ekadashi: 19:05 Thu to 17:18.
Ekadashi ended at 17:18 Fri; arunodaya is Dwadashi.
One row per day, on one clock (UTC+1). Band: the tithi. Box: Arunodaya. Light strip: day; dark strip: night. Sun: sunrise.
Smartas test Ekadashi at sunrise: it holds sunrise on Fri 23 Apr only, at 05:52: Fri 23 Apr. Vaishnavas test arunodaya: Dashami ended at 19:05 Thu, before it (04:16–05:52).
Breaking the fast
Smarta · Vaishnava · Sat 24 Apr, 05:51–14:47
Parana is on Dwadashi, after its first quarter (harivasara) and before it ends. Dwadashi runs from 17:18 on Fri 23 Apr to 14:47 on Sat 24 Apr; harivasara ends at 22:40 Fri. So parana runs from sunrise on Sat 24 Apr, 05:51. Dwadashi runs past midday: the Dharmasindhu reports that many keep parana to the first 3 muhurtas after sunrise, until 08:22.
