Why is Bhai Dooj on Thu 15 Nov in Pāthardi?
Bhai Dooj is on Thu 15 Nov: Dwitiya holds all of aparahna that day, and no other.
Aparahna is Pratipada; Dwitiya begins at 23:56.
Dwitiya holds all of aparahna, 13:21–15:35. Dwitiya: 23:56 Wed to 20:18.
One row per day, on one clock (IST). Band: the tithi. Box: Aparahna. Light strip: day; dark strip: night.
The tilak is applied in aparahna, the fourth fifth of the day. Dwitiya runs from 23:56 on Wed 14 Nov to 20:18 on Thu 15 Nov, so only Thursday’s aparahna (13:21–15:35) falls within it. No text giving Bhai Dooj’s time was found; aparahna is Tithika’s convention.
